ShareIt has been a very popular file sharing platform across many systems. Its main feature is that you can not only share files from one phone to other but also from a phone to PC. However the main problem at times with shareit is , while using on a Laptop it gets disconnected on its own during file sharing process ( It did happen with me, do share your experience in the comments below).
I had to transfer a large file of about 11.2 GB from my phone to Laptop. I tried shareit, but about 4 times between the transfer process it got disconnected, hence i tried ZAPYA.
Zapya is also a file sharing app which got my work done and with much higher file transfer rates. It took me about 45 min for 11.2 GB file transfer which is much higher if I were to do by shareit. The transfer rates were almost 10 MB per second as compared with 3-4 MBps of shareit.
In zapya you can share apps, photos, videos, files in a similar way like shareit. This app brings you zip files, docx, ppt ,etc under one folder ( as seen in pic ) to reduce time required for finding them. However if you want to share some other file format you can do so with the internal storage option.
You can create groups as well as join groups by scanning the barcode. Like shareit it does make use of wifi hotspot to connect and share files. Connecting by scanning the barcode on the laptop took less than a second.
The main disadvantage of this app is that, it runs in the background even if you close the app. You will have to force close the app in the settings , which is strange and i have never experienced it with any app.
Also it has a mini store to download apps and it does show recommended apps to download which you may either like it or dislike it ( its of typical chinese app store type)
It may pop up some unwanted notification and hence would recommend you to go in the settings and disable them.
Final thoughts:
For mobile to mobile transfer its quick and fast and also with scanning of barcode it does connect faster. The transfer rates are great, however shareit is itself good on the mobile to mobile transfer platform with similar Transfer rates.
The main use of Zapya will be while transferring data from your phone to PC where there is substantial difference between shareit and zapya.
Hence, i would recommend shareit for transferring data from your phone to the other and zapya from phone to Laptop.
You can download zapya directly from their official site on your Laptop or PC and the app from the play store.
