The Google Play store is filled with applications categorized based on their niche and functionality. Here, we will be taking a look at some of the applications which are not under a single category yet have something in common i.e they occupy just a MB (MEGA BYTE) of space on your phone. Hence, if you are using an older device having storage issues then these apps can replace most of the existing storage hungry applications.
1. ColorNote
As the name suggests, its a note based application. Considering the size, it offers a lot of functionality and is quite similar to Google Keep. In ColorNote you can take notes as well as make a checklist, protect it via password, change the theme, add widgets and change the appearance, organize, etc. A backup of the notes and checklist can be created by either adding a Google account or via Facebook.
The best part about using ColorNote is that while editing a note or checklist, if you move out of the app, your work gets saved. Similarly, if the note gets deleted by mistake then it can be retrieved easily from the trash section where you can choose to either restore it or delete permanently.

2. Android assistant
This app like the ColorNote is just under 1MB yet offers decent functionality. Here, you will get a complete overview of the system displaying the RAM, ROM, Temperature, Voltage, Storage status and the share of available space. You can also choose to delete apps in one go as well as install them (via apk files). This app also displays the background processes and has an additional tab for quick toggles.
Overall, the Android Assistant app is a multi utility app.

3. Darker
Darker is a brightness adjustment app which also provides filters. There are quite a few apps like twilight, night filter etc. which are more dynamic and have a better Ui yet considering the space that it occupies, Darker has to be in the list. In this app, we can choose the level of brightness as per our liking which will range from 20% of the current brightness value to max. We can further reduce it however it is available in the Pro version.
There are quite a few other related apps that fall under the same category yet one area where Darker leads is by making the user choose a color filter where most apps just provide the dimming option. Overall, this app does the job inspite of the minimum space that it requires thereby making it to our list.

4. WiFi analyzer
This app inspite of being slightly above 1 MB has to be in the list considering how useful it is. Recently we compiled an article stating the importance of selecting the WiFi channel manually to obtain better output and efficiency. The WiFi analyzer displays the available networks in our area and the channel bands that they occupy along with their strength. Here, we can analyse the available channels and head on to the router settings to choose the empty or less traffic congested channel thereby improving the quality of the network and overall obtain the most out of your internet speed.

5. Clipper
Clipper is an app which provides a floating clipboard when a text is copied. This floating clipboard enables us to edit, share, translate (via Google translate) and make a web search or determine location of the copied word. Once the text is copied, a bubble containing the copied text will appear. The copied text also gets saved in the app for future reference.
