Mobile phones have been an integral part of our lives. Smart phones have dominated us from the time we wake up in the morning till the time we go to bed. If you buy a new phone or are new to smartphones the main question is which one to buy and the main factor is THE OS.
The main OS's which are prominent are
1: ANDROID OS 2: iOS 3: WINDOWS OS
Android phones are the most selling smartphones followed by iOS and then windows (Blackberry os is not recommended because of its reducing popularity). Android phones are the only ones to cater for ones budget ranging from ultra low budget ( may be even 80$ or less till even 1000$).

WHY ANDROID OS? .......
Android phones are the most selling smartphones followed by iOS and then windows (Blackberry os is not recommended because of its reducing popularity). Android phones are the only ones to cater for ones budget ranging from ultra low budget ( may be even 80$ or less till even 1000$).
POINTS :
- If you are a person who likes customization on phones like changing launchers or may be themes or even dominate the looks like the way you want.
- If you want to go partly into risk by installing ROMs or packages also rooting and making the phone the way you want : )
- Downloading apps from other stores apart from play store as well as apk's. (Note:I do not promote piracy or hacking )
- If you want to use alternative apps instead of official apps of the OEM. eg: Camera app, Dialer,etc..
WHY iOS?.......
iOS the OS used in Apple iPhones is considered to be the most smooth and secure OS. When comparing to Android it has its own advantages and disadvantages.
Advantages:
- The OS is more secure. Hacking or stealing information is not easy as compared to android.
- It is more smooth in performance as it is more better optimized with the hardware.
- Gaming is smoother when compared to many android counterparts.
- Highly reliable for basic works i.e calls, messaging , e-mails , social networking.
Disadvantages:
- Most apps available are paid.
- Limited customizations.
- Overpriced phones
- Need a complete apple environment for easy sharing of data.
These were some of the advantages and disadvantages of iOS when compared to Android.
It depends on ones choice what to choose and what are your needs.
WHY WINDOWS?......
Windows phones once about 3 years ago were selling great and were having a good market share. The main issue was lack of many apps and even the most used ones. Few apps did come but were either left abandoned or hardly ever updated and it continues today too because of which its market share is dwindling.
My first smartphone was a nokia lumia 520 which was a charm in terms of performance with wp 8 and wp 8.1. It works great even today which shows the quality of nokia. However their OS was unfinished.
SO SHOULD YOU BUY WINDOWS PHONE
Windows phone are great for your basic task however the software bugs may annoy you at times.
However the major concern is its existence as a mobile phone OS in future.
