We are just 1 month away from the launch of the Google's Pixel 3 and the 3XL. Till date we have seen numerous rumors pile up claiming that the regular Pixel 3 will be without a notch however the bigger sibling will come with an uglier and a large notch - literally as large as your eyebrows !! Lol The Notch on the 3XL from various leaks has been into talking since its inception and that is the reason why many are speculating that these leaks can be fake!! Yes literally..
Recently a video went up online on YouTube showcasing the unboxing of the Pixel 3XL. One of the YouTuber made a detailed analysis of the video stating whether its fake or not although its just his views but there was one point that got our attention. The Label on the Headphones in the box read as Googel and not Google. Now, the question arises as to why will Google make such a blunder and that too with its own name. However dumb one may be at least they can write their names correctly and in no case Google as a company is dumb. Well anyways thats not the main aspect but rather the phone itself.
The Pixel 3 from the leaks looks legit and is probably the better looking sibling. We probably will have stereo speakers like as in the previous iteration and frankly speaking at the first glance it looks like the 2 XL with slightly smaller chin and dual front facing cameras. Okay! Thats fine considering the elder sibling is the most popular one but this time for bad reasons. The notch is pathetic since its huge and the irony is that the Android Pie has by default support for the notch which brings us closer in believing that the leaks can be true.
But on the other hand prominent leakers or render makers like OnLeaks quoted in a tweet that Google might have staged these leaks for hype i.e faked them - the issue here is that in this tweet he could be sarcastic which even we are not clear!! We can believe it to some extent with the former since in the past rather in 2018 itself Lenovo's CEO created a bizarre situation by stating unreal expectations leading to extreme hype that many prominent people actually fell for it including us :-P. Ultimately it led to attention from every individual and finally it was trashed leading to outrage for the CEO but nevertheless, the device was decent considering the price point that it was selling for (Lenovo Z5). As Lenovo's CEO took the negative exponential path for hype we can expect Google taking a troll over us for these leaks and probably at Apple and they might just launch a completely different product although there can be chances that the notch may be present although it could be much smaller.
If we take a detailed look at the notch, it houses dual front facing cameras and the earpiece which should double up as a speaker for stereo effect. From the leaks, it has been stated that one of the lens is for wide angle shots. The resolution expected is 8.1 MP with f/1.8 and f/2.2 aperture and there are chances that it might be variable just like Samsung did with its rear facing camera on the S9 Plus and the Note 9. The rear will house a single 12.2 MP sensor which raises a doubt here as to why no wide angle lens here. No doubt in selfies we might need it but people do use it for rear scenic shots too and panorama is not an appropriate move for slight increased angle shots. Anyways! It will come with the Pixel Visual Core which helps in the AI and Machine learning tasks or rather in simple terms better processing of images including HDR+. Overall, the 3 XL looks like a photoshopped variant of the 2 XL which has been lengthened to accommodate the 6.7 inch QHD+ OLED display and that huge notch housing the camera sensors. The rear of the 3 and 3 XL resembles the predecessor although this time the entire rear panel can be made up of glass and not a combination of metal and glass since it might come with wireless charging support. The regular Pixel 3 will come with a smaller 5.5 inch FHD+ display (OLED).
Speaking of the internals, Qualcomm 845 will be powering them with the 3 XL getting 3430 mAh battery capacity and the regular Pixel 3 getting a smaller 2915 mAh capacity. The RAM is expected to be 4GB and probably even 6GB although we cannot confirm it yet. Internal storage can range between 64GB and 128GB. Other aspects like the E-SIM from the Pixel 2 should also be present.
Overall, what do you feel ? Will this be a troll or will Google be trolled. We would be happy if the former comes true since in the past too during the unveiling of the first gen Pixel device, Google poked the elimination of headphone jack by Apple and hence in this case it could be the Notch. If by chance the latter becomes true then unfortunately Google will also fall in the Notch league and will retain the least innovative and ugly design of the year award which of course no one bestows but gets declared by the fellow enthusiasts. Anyways, the truth will be revealed on October 9th at an event in New York. Stay Tuned!!
