The iPhone X introduced gestures which were criticized initially however they are pretty useful and fun to play around with. Recently from the preview of Android P it became evident that similar gestures will also be present for Android although not every device in the future will get the taste of Android P. But don't worry, there are quite a few developers out there who think good for the mankind (rather for users like us) and develop apps which turn out to fulfill most of the needs and one such app is - X home bar.
The name itself specifies the entire functioning. Its a home button that can replace your conventional navigation buttons. A single bar at the bottom with the help of gesture does the job of home, back and recent buttons although you can reconfigure it to your liking.

Options available for each swipe action
We have been using the free version of this app and we have to admit that it has been great till now without any accidental touches and without any app crashes or closures. We also get an option to hide the home button when the status bar is hidden i.e during full screen mode (while gaming or watching videos , etc.). Our device was based on Android Oreo hence the double tap or rather swipe to switch apps in our case worked flawlessly.Xda developers too have developed a similar app however we did find it to be highly resistive to use and the experience was not as smooth as it was with this application. The X home bar app is probably the best we could get in terms of 3rd party gestures and hence we can easily recommend this app as a substitute to your on-screen or even the capacitive navigation buttons. However do remember that ADB is required for completely replacing the on-screen buttons else the bar appears over the navigation buttons.
