Google's Reply app - a smart integration of reply ?

Google has been doing quite well in terms of machine learning especially if we consider the functioning of the Google assistant. Now, with the Reply app, Google has further expanded or will expand their learning capabilities to replying the messages. Seems strange ! But yeah you can and will get a predictive text based on the message that you receive in your notifications.

The Reply app has not yet been made available on the play store however you can download and install the apk via apkmirror. Do remember, that the minimum Android version required is Android Nougat (7.0).

Once installed, you will be asked for a few permissions and then on enabling them you are good to go.

With Android Nougat, the ability to reply messages directly from the notification drawer became possible however Google has taken a step forward to enable predictive reply. With the help of machine learning, the Reply app will determine the most probable reply to that message and will display 3 options. If the reply that you intend appears then just tap on it and the message gets delivered. In our rigorous testing with Whatsapp, the predictive reply did match the questions and messages which is indeed a positive point.

The other apps that can be used with Reply are : Twitter DM, Hangouts and Messenger. The support for Telegram has not yet been made available however do remember that the app is not yet official.

Some of the other features include automatic reply (based on priority words. E.g if you receive the message stating 'Urgent' then the device will vibrate indicating its urgency). Similarly, you can also add your Home and Work address for better integration during messages. Overall, the Reply app is indeed a very useful app which makes the direct reply more dynamic and smart.

Do share your valuable thoughts in the comments regarding the app and what additions or additional features that you would have liked to see.
