Not many apps are available on the play store which enable us to stream TV content. In India we have Hotstar and some similar apps , however they do not provide foreign content and are still limited. Although YouTube recently announced YouTube TV which is their addition to stream TV programs , yet being in its initial stages it has been officially launched only in 4 cities in USA. Speaking of worldwide availability will not be of interest.
Keeping rest of the things aside and lets come to the app which irrespective of region provides much better content i.e MOBDRO. This app can suffice most of our television content with decent resolution and to top it off for free.
Opening up the app we get a variety of categories to stream content. The app displays the recently played content as well as provides an option to search for the content we need .
The various categories available are News, movies, shows, tech, podcasts, spiritual, etc. This is the main reason which justifies my statement of it being better than most other TV content apps. The wide range of categories with addition of different channels as well as in different languages makes it the best app for free streaming of content.
Every category consists of various content to choose from. For eg: in the news section you get many popular channels like BBC, CNN and so on. In the above image the channels are present under tech section which seems quite decent. However, its free so lets appreciate!!
Speaking of the quality, if you prefer any paid subscription service and suddenly opted for this then you will surely get disappointed. The quality is average and in my opinion its just 360p or 480p content. You can view the content in landscape as well as portrait view and select the scaling of content on the screen.
The above images show the different channels available to view. Another feature is the availability to offline any content however it is paid.
Ok! So its the IPL season in India and what about streaming IPL via Mobdro. Yes! Thats available too and the best part it has a delay of just few seconds although everything depends on your internet connection.
However one major let down apart from lower resolution is the latency issues and not all channels are live. Some of them are pre-recorded or have content which is hours old.
If you feel that the issues don't bother you and you prefer free content then head on to their official site to download as Mobdro is not available on the playstore.
