TOP UTILITY APPS

Utility apps are those which are addons to the basic stuff what our devices do not get built-in. These apps tend to be highly useful to those devices not running any custom OS but rather on stock Android as the Custom OS at times provides way more features.
Without wasting much time lets get to the top utility apps -1

1: UNIVERSAL COPY
Copying stuffs like text from browser content , apps seem basic and we do get an option to select text and copy. However there are apps which do not allow text copying and pasting. For example Instagram which never allows you to copy text and use it.
Hence, Universal copy enables you to copy text and also adds it directly to clipboard for further usage.

You will have to enable accessibility option and on enabling the app, it will appear on the notification panel for using at the instant. Clicking the app icon on the notification panel will take a virtual screenshot ( which does not appear in your gallery) where you can copy any text you want without selecting any images or other content.

You can enable notification icon to make use of it whenever you want to copy any text

You can copy any text on enabling. After selecting the text, click on the copy button to copy it to clipboard

You get a glance of the entire text on the screen on selecting entire copy option. Here , you can select the text to be copied.

You can copy the entire content and save them on the clipboard.
Once done copying, you can get rid of it from the notification bar by disabling it.

2: Google keep
One of the most useful and minimalistic apps from Google is the Google keep. As the name goes by it is used to maintain and keep notes on the go. I feel it is one of the best apps to keep notes and remainders as it makes use of your Google account and hence you can sync all your notes and reminders over all devices.

The interface is very simple and you get to use a title and below that you can add notes. The best part is that you do not have to click on any button to save but rather by just going back it saves the note, most useful when you click back button by mistake and it doesn't save.

You can also change the colours as per your choice, make another copy, send the note, add another person to make changes i.e collaborator and add labels.

All your notes are saved in the tile format giving a glance of it.

Reminders can be easily added and you can schedule them. You can set the time, date for the reminder and also sync it across all your devices via your Google account.

Another little feature is the addition of draw. You can take inputs and make notes by writing on the screen or just make a drawing. One can change the colours of the input pen and size. Its best use will be with Samsung note devices (RIP NOTE 7) or any other device with stylus.

3: Google translate
One of the most useful apps from Google is the translate. It may be useful for some or may not be but however, its one of the most perfect apps.

In Google translate you can translate any text and if you do not know what language is the text in, the detect language option will do the job. There are a variety of languages to choose from to translate any text or words or even sentences to any other language of your choice.

For example in the above image, I got a comment on my Instagram post. I did not know what language the comment was in, hence I copied the text, pasted it on the translation bar and on detect language option, it detected as Portuguese and translated it in English.
You can also copy text directly to the clipboard and also mark as favourite.

One of the best option is making use of voice input which can be extremely useful when you are travelling abroad and have no knowledge about the respective Country's official language. However, an active internet connection is required unless the language pack has been installed.

There is an option to translate messages or rather SMS.

Offline translation is available which becomes useful when travelling abroad and you have no internet access. You will have to download packs i.e any language you want with English language as reference.

Whatever language pack you download, it will automatically get translated to English. However, if you want to translate any language apart from English, you will have to make offline both the language packs.

Another useful feature is tap to translate. On selecting any word or text , sentence you get usual options to copy , paste and stuff. However, on enabling tap to translate, another option gets added i.e translate which translates the text on the spot.
As in the above image, the text had been selected and Google translate just overlaps the app to translate it.

Some of the most spectacular additions is to translate via drawing text and scanning of text
Here, I drew HOLA which it successfully translated to Hello in English. However, you need to be neat in drawing alphabets otherwise it wont detect properly or fail to detect it.

The scan to translate text works like a charm. Just hover the camera over any text and select the language to get translated to. Do remember, all languages are not supported at present.

After scanning, just select the text to translate.

These were some of the features of Google translate. Do refer the link below to download it.

These were the three apps which I feel will be of great use to you. I have tested them and none of the developers paid me to do a review.

Do share your recommendations in the comments below and thanks for reading till the end.
Have a great day !!
