Nokia under HMD Global had debuted with the Nokia 6 in China in 2017 and now after a year of its release, the Nokia 6 2018 model gets unveiled. The successor's design and build has been heavily inspired from the predecessor which is an advantage considering solid build quality. Like last year, the Nokia 6 2018 has been unveiled in China at present and the details regarding global availability should be available soon.

Externally the most noticeable difference from the predecessor is the shift in the position of the fingerprint sensor. The fingerprint sensor has been shifted to the rear below the camera module. The camera module does protrude out a bit. At 8.15 mm thickness, without the camera bump the device is quite thick and overall has been made up of series 6000 aluminium that was also present on the 2017 Nokia 6 which ensures a solid build quality. Unlike the recent trend, Nokia has decided to keep itself away from the new 18:9 aspect ratio hence settled for the standard 16:9 display.
In terms of internals, the Nokia 6 2017 was powered by the Snapdragon 430 SOC which has been upgraded to the more powerful Snapdragon 630. The Nokia 6 also comes with 4GB of LPDDR4 RAM and Adreno 508 GPU. The device comes with Stock Ui based Android Nougat 7.1.1 with promised update to Android Oreo. Nokia has been doing quite well considering updates with the added advantage of pure Android and hence the same is expected with their upcoming devices too.
Speaking of camera, the 2018 Nokia 6 also comes with the same camera specs as that of the 2017 variant. It possesses a 16MP F/2.0 rear camera sensor with 1.0 micron pixel size. The front facing camera is of 8MP with F/2.0 lens and 1.12 micron pixel size with 84 field of view. It comes with a feature similar to the Nokia 8 known as 'Bothie'. Here it has been named as 'Dual view mode' where one can capture and record simultaneously from both the front and the rear sensor.
Some of the other notable features include the presence of the endangered 3.5 mm Headphone jack and USB Type-C port. The presence of Type-C port in the mid-range segment keeps it apart from most other devices and also the availability of Bluetooth 5 is an icing to the cake. The battery capacity is maintained at 3000 mAh with fast charging capability.
The Nokia 6 will retail for 1499 Yuan (~Rs. 14700) in China for 4-32GB variant and the 4-64GB variant will retail for 1699 Yuan (~Rs. 16600). The sales begin January 10th and the device will be available in Black and Silver colors.
